Sweetassgal here expanding my hair horizons with a new product I have never heard of but am having AMAZING results with in just two shampoos! I’ve often droned on about the difficulties of curly hair. Mainly being that it needs massive conditioning to stay shiny, bouncy and healthy looking. Before my hair went curly I had to shampoo almost every day to keep from looking like and oil slick. Now…I have to go at least 2 or 3 days without washing, I use a deep intense conditioner every time, and I top it off with 3 pumps of an oil based hair emollient that is really meant for just occasional conditioning. Even with all of this I am often left with dried out and frizzy hair by my second day after shampoo.
Enter in Prive Concept Vert Rejuvenating Pure Shampoo. In reading the bottle I noticed right off that it has lots of wonderful natural properties. “Enriched with Amazon acai and babassu oil, Prive CONCEPT VERT #101 rejuvenates hair with antioxidants and strengtheners as it gently nourishes and cleanses. This high-yield formula expands into a rich, creamy foam leaving the hair feeling and looking shiny and healthy.”
Directions say to use one pump in the palm of your hand and add a little water to increase foaming action. A word of warning here…I thought I’d press the pump and one pump worth would come out but it keeps dispensing so I over pumped the first time. Just a second for short hair and two for longer is enough as it comes out FAST! The first thing I noticed about it is that it was SUPER silky feeling and I couldn’t wait to put it in my hair. It lathered richly but not over bubbly and smells FANTASTIC. It’s an herbal scent that is very light and not at all heavy or heady smelling.
I decided then and there that I wanted to see JUST how the shampoo works without ANY other product so I rinsed my shampoo out and went sans conditioner. First test of the “rejuvenating” and “nourishing” properties of this shampoo…will I be able to get a comb through my rats nest curly hair AFTER shampooing and WITHOUT conditioner? Drum roll please…the answer is YES! I couldn’t believe it! So I took it a step further and went out the door WITHOUT product. That’s right non-believers. I went out into the winter weather without hair product. No curl rejuvenator, no frizz fighting oil…nada. Sacrilege!
Halfway through the day I noticed my curls are soft and a bit more natural but not at all frizzy. Usually I have a tighter curl pattern but I’m kind of liking this softer, beachier looking wave. What truly surprises me is how soft and non-crunchy my hair is. I’m in utter shock and just can’t believe what I’m seeing.
I think I should note that I’ve been using the same shampoo and conditioner for a long time now and part of this may be my hair reacting to a new formula. Even if that’s the case, I’m ALL for switching it up because if my hair looks THIS great with shampoo only I can’t WAIT to add the conditioner into the mix and report back next week. I think it’s really important to judge each item on its own individual merit and so far the Rejuvenating Pure Shampoo is brilliant for my dry hair!
According to the bottle this is for all hair types so I would be interested to hear from our oily haired girls and see what you say. The natural properties of this shampoo, the unique pump dispenser, certified organic extracts, no sulfates, parabens, phthalates, DEA, TEA or artificial colors, and the fact that it’s never tested on animals all make it a winner in my book.
In my full, honest, and shocked opinion…this is the best natural shampoo I have ever tried. Hands down. Now…on to the conditioner! GLAM ON!
O, (I know I typed”O” by when dealing with the divine Miss Winfrey) here’s what Oprah has to say…“I haven’t had this much fun with shampoo since I morphed my little sister’s golden curls into a mohawk at bath time!”
