Welcome to another Green Chi Tuesday with Chichi! We just had a great megsmakeup weekend. The fabulous Miss lilykane came to town for a triumphant Short Film Premiere and Gallery Opening featuring her “creepy but sweet” (tm desertdoll?) dolls and art (www.christykane.com). Afterwards, Desertdoll, Lilykane, HOM, Meg and I had a few glasses of wine and numerous showings of the infamous Gem Sweater video before calling it a night. The next day, the whole crew plus Blusleelee got together for the magic of a megsmakeup distribution party!
Having Lilykane join us in the fun and excitement of a distribution party made me think about how lucky we have been over the last two years here at megsmakeup.com. We get to ohh and aww over all the latest products, test them ourselves and than pass our findings on to our fellow make up obsessed friends all over the world. Best of all, we get to play make-up fairy and we send out product to our most active testers for review. So, if you’ve been shy about getting active in the mmu community, don’t be! I promise you’ll find funny and smart women here that share your passion for all things beauty. Your thoughts and reviews are wanted and valued and you never know – you may be rewarded with a little present just for sharing!
Finally, we wouldn’t be where we are without the support of some fabulous companies. We’ve been able to work with so many wonderful people and develop some great relationships. One of our very favorite lines that we discovered at the beginning of megsmakeup.com and have continued to review and love is Suki Pure Cosmetics. This 100% natural skin care line has wowed us with every single item we received for review and their talented founder, Suki has been a big supporter of our site. It’s been great to watch a smart and talented woman build her line of high quality natural skin care and now she has launched a companion line, Sukicolor, comprised of mineral cream make-up.
If you adore the look of a fresh and natural, even dewy face this is the line for you. Suki says she set out to create ”100% pure, clean colors that blend effortlessly with (your) complexion and enhance (your) features, not make (you) look powdery or made up.” She also aimed to ”strike the perfect balance — not glittery, not flat.” Mission accomplished!
This make-up delivers a clean, flawless finish that is never drying or cakey. Unlike many make-up products, this smooth formula does not soak into the fine lines around my eyes or mouth. If you have sensitive skin, never fear, Sukicolor specializes in working with even the most vulnerable of skin types and they “never use any synthetics, dyes, gmos or petrochemicals you will find in conventional and “natural” mineral makeup.”
I received two products to check out. The first was the Tinted Active Moisturizer – This medium coverage foundation is full of “completely natural pigments and a world of organic wonders” including white willow (which reduces the appearance of redness and blemishes). I love the mess free pump applicator and glass bottle. This tinted moisture just melts into skin. I used the natural shade, which was a tad dark for my fair complexion. However, this was easily solved by mixing just a pump of Sukicolor with a light moisturizer and blending. I was rewarded with fresh, glowing and evenly toned skin!
I also received the Pure Cream Stain in Vermillion – a deep burgundy red wine shade. This amazing product comes in a generously sized glass jar and can be used on lips and checks. This stain is not drying like so many that I have tried and is ”packed with tons of organic content including omega oils and chamomile.” Again the color is very blendable and easy to work with on both face and lips. (The more neutral colors can even be worn on the eyes!)
All right fellow Suki lovers, I know you’re out there! Have you tried this divine new line yet? We would love to here from you – especially all you lurkers here at megsmakeup – come out and join us!
