CRoman here,to report on the splurge of LaPrairie! It feels like a toner but call it a lotion – an Ultra Moist Balancing Lotion!, to be exact … and that’s exactly what is does. If you want to know what it feels like to have your pH balance restored, give this a try. This truly made my skin softer through it’s built-in technology to promote moisture retention, but it was a bit sticky and itchy. This is true of many skin softeners so it may just be a price we are forced to pay for beauty – or the properties intrinsic to an anti-inflammatory like this one. I have particularly irritable skin so I would go ahead and see for yourself. The bottle is gorgeous and let’s face it – you will never get a better brand.
If you haven’t heard of La Prairie or if it’s a name that doesn’t hold a meaning to you yet – allow me! La Prairie is the Maserati of skin care – the Karl Lagerfeld of health – the di Vinci of beauty – the Einstein of cosmetic technology. Arguably the most technically advanced skin care on Earth, and the clout to match having been the the top choice of royalty from its inception. It’s routes are in Switxzerland where they have their labs and spa (though we called it a clinic when it comes to La Prairie) near the French alps of Evian in a town called Montreux. I went to the spa while attending Villa Institute Pierre Feu – an international protocol and etiquette school (aka finishing school) and it reminded me of a non-evil version of the spa from Zoolander. Translation: HARD CORE. If you are at all versed in French – have a look through their spa website ….
For those of us with less global aspirations, La Prairie opened a spa right here at the Beverly Hills Hotel and they are also in the Ritz in New York. Look out for their revolutionary ‘spa residence’ in Miami soon – a new concept bringing the spa principles to everyday living … leave it to the Swiss!
