The brilliant reps for Illuminare Cosmetics sent Megs MakeUp out some packs of their 3 FOUNDATION INTRODUCTORY TRIAL PACKS. You know they really are smart cookies over at Illuminare and it really hits home the whole “can’t judge a book by its cover” mantra.

We were sent small plastic bags,(actually, they explain the concept better then I do-here they go) ” No more trial and error! This trial pack provides you with all three of our foundation formulas in our three most popular shades. Ranging from a light beige ivory to tan olive shade, all colors are self-adjusting to perfectly match your skin tone. Each trial size contains 3-4 full face applications. Remember that you can mix together any of the colors or formulas to customize a foundation perfectly suited for you! Hand the extras out to your friends! *If you think you might be outside the 3 middle shades and would like an Amalfi Alabaster or Tuscan Toast (Ultimate All Day formula only) added to your trial pack (at no additional charge) please indicate your request in the “customer comments” section during your checkout. * Extra Coverage and Ultimate All day formulas are NEW formulas and differ from the closeout formula product. Fantastic Finish, Extra Coverage & Ultimate All Day Foundation- SPF 21- 2ml-New Formulas 1 of each .07oz (2ml) Trial size of 3 Foundation Formulas in the 3 Middle Shades (9 total – 2ml)”

I ho-hummed about trying these because I am a bona fide package snob. One day I was running very low on my favorite foundation and broke these tubes out. They are amazing! Seriously, I really recommend you give these a try. The consistency is so nice. You really do not need any more then a pea size amount because its pigmentation is truly superior to so many other foundations on the market right now. The shades and tones themselves are so dead-on natural.

If you need a great foundation I would really recommend you check out Illuminare. The nine shades you get sent are perfect at taking the guesswork out of the online purchase. Another PLUS-THEY ARE TEN BUCKS . That’s about a buck a tube. SPF 21 in each shade. Illuminare took another step out of my routine and for that another bonus point! The only thing I was not crazy about was the leopard print puff applicator. It was a bit gimmicky and I found it did nothing positive in the application of the actual product.

Attention Make-Up artists, you’ll be a smart and happy LadyJane with this baggie in your kit. Not only is the application beautiful but it really wears all day!

So, it doesn’t have a 14 carat gold pump, a famous designer did not create the bottle, it just works really, really well. Meg recommends!
