At the New York Make-up show, Megsmakeup (beautyzilla and I) were lucky enough to meet Gale from JAO. I was not aware of the JAO phenom, Rachael filled me in “Oh, Meg, we have to go to the JAO table. My mother is OBSESSED with their opscale hand sanitizer, she makes me make a special trip to Ricky’s N.Y.C Beauty store to pick her up a new bottle everytime she’s running low. Let’s go over there, it’s such great stuff!”

Rach always knows the newest and coolest so, of course, we made our way over to Gale’s JAO table. Let me just say that hand sanitizer is useful and fantastic but the lip balm from JAO I was handed really knocked me over! It is formulated for “Lip Balm Snobs” but that’s another post.

Gale was so wonderful and funny to talk to and she really knew her stuff! When she handed Rachael and I bottles of her JAO I was somewhat excited to pop it into my purse. Here’s the deal, I popped the 2oz bottle in my purse and thought “great”, I was happy but not over the moon. Until I realized how much JAO in my purse saved my life.

First of all JAO is upscale, designer fabulous. The bottle is gorgeous and it smells like an herbal lavendar garden. It’s so luscious!

I was with my girlfriend that had to change her baby’s diaper in an inconvenient spot. She was able to wash her hands but really squealed “YUM” once she applied my JAO.

I was with my sister for Sushi but the bathroom line was out the door. She used the hot napkin and wanted a refresher I handed her my JAO and she was in love with the scent and lightness of the moisture.

The dogpark? Poopies? Baggies? JAO was really handy to have!

I live in a city, every lady that lives in a city should have an upscale hand sanitizer in her purse. It’s like having the convenience of personal kleenex around. Think of it as the necessity of a morning Starbucks, you know you’re going to need it, what’s better then having a fantastically scented portable sink in your handbag?

Here’s what JAO says about their very useful product, it is delish!..Jao Hand Refresherâ„¢ The first “upscale” antibacterial is an instant disinfectant and aromatherapy boost in one. Jao kills germs and freshens hands with ethyl alcohol (less drying) and our very own blend of antiseptic essential oils: Lavendar, Tea Tree, Eucalyptus, Geranium, and Sage. Some antibacterials use a synthetic bacteriostat called Triclosan which is a known marine pollutant and has become controversial for its ability to give rise to bacteria that can become resistant. Alcohol does the job and leaves no residue to foster microbial resistance. Combined with cosmetic moisturizers and the essential oils Jao will not dry out your hands. It’ll feel like you just washed with an herbal lavendar soap. Jao. It’s your portable sink!Jao Hand Refresherâ„¢ was tested against seven of the most likely hand contaminants, specifically: Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococus aureus, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Candida albicans, Salmonella choleraseous, Streptococcus pneumoniae. In all cases, the “kill rate” was less than one minute.

Ladies, did JAO make your entire day more clean, sanitized and beautiful?

Update, Gale (President of Jao) sent me this lovely email

Hey there Megan,

Thank you so much for putting the Jao out there, I loved your review….I was really impressed with the responses, especially the one who mentioned Triclosan is a marine pollutant, it’s great she is aware of that because it is, and that is why we don’t use it in Jao. People are put off by the alcohol, but it is the safest way to kill the germs without resistance! Also, why Jao costs more is because of the antiseptic essential oils, which are there not only because of their smell but also because of what they do. Your readers are smart and educated. It was wonderful to read the responses. thanks again and will send you samples of the lip balm and also our body oil. I can’t wait to get it to you.
